Welcome
I'm Mathew Drewry, a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist.
I created The Reflective Room to deliver evidence-based psychological therapies to adults 16+ in a calm and confidential space that I purposefully designed.

Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, low mood, past trauma or simply want to build greater self-understanding, psychotherapy provides a safe space to pause, reflect and learn new skills. Therapy here is tailored to your needs.

Based in the heart of Isle of Man, The Reflective Room welcomes clients both in-person and online. Read on to discover more about the room, the services and the process.

Trauma
The Reflective Room sees trauma as a 'psychological impact' on the mind. Trauma can be complex in nature and may occur at key developmental stages, often relational, emotional and/or physical. Repeated stress, neglect and difficult experiences from the past continue to shape how you think, feel and connect with others in adulthood.
Self-Understanding
Human behaviour, physical feelings in the body, emotions and thoughts in the mind can all be understood outside of a diagnosis. Getting to know yourself more deeply can be the driver to the changes you might be searching for. Self-understanding, connecting to your values and practicing compassion can move you towards the life you want.

“Inspired by the calm shores of the Isle of Man, this is a space to reflect, rebuild, and restore.”

Psychotherapy Tailored to Your Needs
01
Integrative Approach
With training in CBT, ACT, and CFT, I offer a flexible, person-centred approach to therapy. Together, we explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours to help you better understand your mind and nurture long-term wellbeing.
03
Online Resource Library
02
Rooted in Science
With my background in Family and Child Psychology and post-graduate training in CBT and other 'third-wave' therapies, my practice is grounded in understanding how early experiences shape the mind. By integrating developmental theory into therapy, we explore patterns with gentle awareness and compassion, creating space for meaningful change and deeper self-understanding.
To support your experience, I have created a growing library of free resources designed to support reflection and wellbeing including articles, podcasts, and guidance for everyday life. This enhances your in-between session practices, enabling you to get the most out of therapy.
Therapy Process
Let's take a look at the quick and easy steps to your journey of self-discovery and healing at The Reflective Room:

Ongoing Therapy
You can arrange ongoing sessions at your own pace. This can be as often as you feel you need and you can book 50 or 80 minute sessions.

Arrange a Consultation
You can message The Reflective Room on WhatsApp, send an Email, or simply use My Calendar to arrange a free 15-minute consultation. This is a simple, easy, no-pressure first step.
